HOMELAND R. C.JUNE NEWS
(1) All
points of the compass cup will be played at HRC on Saturday June 12 from
1 to
4:30pm. All of
our courts will be unavailable from 12 to
5pm on that day.A few courts will be available at Roland
Run during this time. Advanced reservations are necessary. Call Barry @
410-821-1644(There are a few more spaces available to represent our club in
this competition)
(2) The
Ladies Member-Guest is scheduled for Tuesday June 22 @9:30am. We are looking
for some help to organized this event. Check out our bulletin board for the
announcement and the sign up sheet. All courts will be used for this event.
Courts will not be available until 12:30pm.
(3) The
campus will be congested on Friday June 25 and Saturday June 26 because of a
Lacrosse tournament. Give yourself some extra time to get through the
campus.
(4) Notice
our new signs posted on court #1 and #5 gates. So not to disturb play use
our alternative gate when signing up for courts 3&4 and 7&8.
(5) Notice
on the bulletin board and on the website our weekday maintenance schedule.
Be aware of when the courts are closed and when they will be available for
play. Adjust your scheduling accordingly. We do this to try to make your
courts play the best we can make them play. Watering is a major ingredient
in the formula.
(6)
Reminders: *Guest Slips need to be filled out before play. Members
not doing so are subject to an extra charge. Guest Slips are found and
filled out in the green mail box by the deck.
* All
players in your group must be present to sign up for a court.
* On the
weekend 2 upper soft courts can be designated as singles courts before
10am.
Check the
back of your roster for other rules of the club.
(7) Matt
Bilger our Head Pro will be organizing junior clinics on the weekend. Call
Matt at the clubhouse for times and days. 410-821-1644(balls,
stringing, accessories, and rackets are for sale in the clubhouse.
(8) Kristen
Messmer our assistant pro will begin our evening clinics on Mondays(men) and
Thursdays(ladies) on June 7 and June 10. Sign up on the bulletin board and
look on our website for more information.
(9) Alan
Langlieb won our annual Men's Tie-breaker Championship held at the club last
Friday. It came down to the last match to determine the champion.
(10) We will
start up our Friday Night Mixed Doubles Round Robin this Friday June 4 @6pm
Sign up on our bulletin board. Bring a snack or refreshment to share.
(11) We are
planning our club Mixed Doubles Social on July 17 starting at
3pm. A mixed doubles round robin will be played followed by food
and refreshment. All club members are invited. Please let us know if you can
help organize this event.
